Master in international relations & diplomacy – MIRD
The MIRDS is designed into two programs; Program one and Program two.
- Those candidates who will choose Program one will do coursework and dissertation and emphasis will be research skills and problem analysis to build skills. This choice will enable other institutions in the country and region to train their staff for academic career development.
- Program two is by coursework and research paper. This alternative will be for students who are already middle executive in government, NGOs and some institutions but do not need rigorous research skills leading to a traditional academic master’s degree dissertation. They instead require deeper analysis of aspects of diplomacy, foreign policy, political economy and security. The research institute and Eelo University School of postgraduate studies made a research and responses show that the public’s interest requires us to offer a master’s programme that is coursework centered. Respondents were executives who would like to improve their skills and qualifications with a view of improving their performance in their work and increasing chances of their being promoted to higher levels. Executives anticipate taking on new responsibilities either within their work places or new opportunities. Our Course Design is responding to market demand by designing program two. Those who will enroll for program two will take more courses in the final semester and write a research paper.
Eligibility: Applicants should have obtained a good first degree in any discipline. These minus a University Degree but have over 10 years’ experience with similar job can be offered a fast tracking course to meet the required level to qualify for postgraduate admissions.
